The roast profile was created on an Ikawa Pro 100 by Nicola Schäppi - Coffee Space GmbH
developed on a hot roaster (after at least one complete roast), 800 meters above sea level, at 22 °C
The challenge of roasting this rich, but well-balanced Sumatra coffee is achieving even development of the large, dense beans. This profile falls just within the narrow range between under-developed and over-developed, bringing out the coffee's many nuances, from the terroir-typical exotic woody spiciness to juicy blood orange with refreshing acidity wrapped in an intense caramel-like sweetness.
This profile can serve as a starting point for roasting other large, dense coffees.
